They plan on doing the same thing in my neighborhood in Michigan and it's not okay!
Safety and security of neighborhood
Safety of children
Smart growth, with the citizens interests and values as the primary concern.
When purchasing in The Springs 2017, I knew the commercial risks of said property, but was also “assured” that any development of the property would complement the neighborhood, not totally degrade it.
We fought a simple smoothie business within our neighborhood, why would we accept a business such as a fuel station at the entrance!
I don’t want a gas station at the front entrance of our subdivision
Safety and inappropriate use of land
Should be a city planning issue
Crime and property devaluation is my concern
Traffic and property devaluation is my concern
Too many in the area already. Devalued homes in Sterling. Safety. Traffic.
Brings crime
I like in Sterling on the Lake where the main entrance would be affected by the development of this gas station.
Crime is my number one reason
Quality of Life and safety issue
Increase in traffic, with possibilities of more accidents with the gas station/business strip mall exiting onto Sterling Lake Blvd, which is the entrance to our subdivision. There is no good reason for this strip mall to have an exit onto our street. While I do not like having this just outside my door, exits should be placed on Spout Springs only. This subdivision makes up 1/3 of the population of Flowery Branch as well as the Spout Springs Library traffic, that should be enough reason not to invite more traffic. It is ludicrous that an exit is even an option into our subdivision.
Proposed gas station should not be near subdivision entrance. Safety concerns on proposed hiway access. Located next to proposed school. This looks way too commercial for current zoning. Environmental concerns with area springs.
Just leave the land alone. No one wants all of this development.
Where this gas station would be located will destroy the look at the entrance to Sterling on the Lake. It will generated excessive traffic at a busy intersection. With another gas station a half a block away, this is also an unnecessary duplication of services.
Historically Gas Stations not only bring traffic but also crime. We already have a gas station a block away. Additional traffic at an already busy entrance will lead to accidents.
The significant concerns that are
Voiced in this petition
The well-being of the many residents of Sterling on the Lake, the safety of the intersection, the potential damage to roads and the size of trucks coming through. There is land away from the entrance to the subdivision that could be utilized instead. This developer has consistently disregarded the best interests of the residents of the homes from which he has benefited significantly.
Construction of this proposed commercial development would (1) negatively impact my home value, (2) create additional unnecessary and unneeded traffic congestion on Spout Springs Road and the main entrance into SOTL, and (3) increase the likelihood of additional criminal activity in SOTL.
Concerns address ed in letter council.traffic .noise crime pollution,
I am extremely concerned about a gas station and school at the entrance of Sterling on the Lake. I am especially concerned about the use of the entrance on Sterling Blvd being used as an entrance and exit. This will create danger and constant traffic issues and traffic in the subdivision.
I am opposed to increasing the traffic entering Lake Sterling Blvd. from Spout Springs Rd.. we already have too many cars entering from Lake Sterling Blvd. speeding and using it as a thoroughfare.
I too am concerned with the increased traffic in our neighborhood entrance for all of these businesses, not to mention gas semi trailers that will have to access the property.. Gas stations typically aren't what you see as you enter a neighborhood...it would be nice to keep the neighborhood feel...I know that's what I loved about Sterling when I moved in a year ago. Coming from Johns Creek, I saw how they protected neighborhoods from this kind of thing and I hope Flowery Branch will do the same. Thank you for your time.
Sterling on the Lake is an up-scale community. I know of no other in the area with a gas station in the front. If this gas station becomes reality, it will negatively impact property values. No one wants such a facility near their community and homes. If it is built, the city of Flowery Branch should lower our assessment and lose the property tax income.
This is a beautiful neighborhood and adding all that traffic, gas trucks, etc will devalue our homes.
Please reconsider and do not develop the proposed plan.
We have enough gas stations close to our subdivision, we do not need one here. Nor do we need the traffic and loitering of unknown persons. It does not fit in with this area where there is a Church and Library close by .
We do not need a gas station at the entrance of our neighborhood, there is no need for one and it will decrease our property values.
The gas station will impact my property value as I live fairly close to where it will be built. I do not feel safe with it built so close to where I live!!
