I enjoy the downtown area on occasion and see the need for good facilities for both residents and tourists alike
As a frequent visitor to Blue Ridge, I had experienced the restrooms downtown first hand. There is always a line for the ladies room during heavy tourist periods and a few times, one of the toilets or sinks have been out of order. For as many tourists and residents as Blue Ridge hosts annually, the public restroom facilities need to be more reliable, larger and update to newer/better functioning features.
As a shop owner, many people ask me about bathrooms. We do not have facilities for the public, and the ones nearby are not in great shape.
Clean restrooms are important for Blue Ridge downtown visitors. The current ones are worn, dated and smell. They are also very warm in the summer.
We're a large tourist town and need bathrooms downtown when people come
We moved near Blue ridge because it's a beautiful quaint town. The public restrooms are very old and outdated.
Public health and tourism.
These bathrooms haven’t been updated since I was a small child… at least 25 years. I would love to see our tax dollars go toward this renovation.
I feel it is vitally important that our city provides the best bathroom accommodations as possible for the guest of our town. ..our image...and our reputations as a inviting city respectful of our guest coming here. Thank you. !!
People that live here and go downtown need them. But all the people that come here for the train or all the festivals really need them. We have the moneys to get this done.
We must welcome tourism to Blue Ridge is a major source of regional income
Because this reflects bad on our town. There is no excuse for the restrooms to be in such bad shape.
Clean, Public bathrooms are needed for all
The restrooms are old and dirty. It's a bad reflection on our beautiful town.
you can tell so much about how a town feels about it's visitors by the state of the restrooms. If you want visitors who respect the town, you need to give them respectable bathrooms.
I am in agreement that funds derived from tourist taxes should be used to improve the downtown Blue Ridge area. Specifically, I agree that the existing bathrooms should be removed and replaced with new bathrooms for public use.
All the businesses put their best faces forward for our visitors and the City benefits from their being here…it is their duty to provide basic services like restrooms and trash pickup.
We get a lot of visitors downtown and we should provide clean, update toilets
Restrooms are totally inadequate for our downtown area. Both the depot and the park facilities need to be addressed.
Access to clean up to date facilities are a foundational service for the public. Visits to Blue Ridge are a struggle because of the lack of available facilities.
Blue Ridge is a dear place to us and we want to see it stay as beautiful as possible
I've long thought that the public restrooms located downtown Blue Ridge near the train depot make an extremely poor impression on the visitors who are expected to utilize them. When compared to similar towns who strive to attract tourists (such as Dahlonega) the public restrooms are an embarrassment to the city of Blue Ridge.
I worked on Main Street for 10 years at the opposite end of Main Street from the restrooms. You would not believe how many people inquired about the public restroom. (Average of 14 per week) When they were told they were at the other end of Main St., some were truly embarrassed because they weren’t sure they could get there in time.
The status of the existing restrooms is an embarrassment to our city. We advertise for the masses to come and then can not accommodate them.
My business owners are tired of providing public restrooms
Need access to pee. Way too many people using this bathroom
There are great restaurants and shops and festivals downtown but taking family and friends is tricky especially if with old and young people because of so few public restrooms
If you want to keep shoppers downtown, they need a place to "go"
Too much time and effort has taken place to scrape the plans for updated and appropriately sized restroom facilities in Blue Ridge. These restrooms are needed to keep me and my family to continue to do business in the city.
Crappy restrooms in a tourist town that benefits taxpayers directly seems to be a reasonable expectation an/or return on investment (tax dollars). If the city doesn’t want to invest then cut a deal with a 3rd party contractor to renovate and keep clean nice restrooms.
Tourism is the way our locals make money. No one likes to see a messy, terrible restroom. These people travel here, are here all day and need decent restrooms to use.
