Petition is addressed to: Staff of SPX

Concerned families of St Pius X students request immediate action for the closure of the 8:15am Wednesday student mass. This mass should be closed to the general public. All doors should be locked during this time, with staff manning the front door for the arrival of attendees, limited to school and church staff, students, and the families of students ONLY.

Reason

The safety of our children and staff is of utmost concern. While we recognize that churches and places of worship should be safe and accessible to all, we believe that allowing the general public to attend poses an unacceptable risk to our students. Many families have expressed anxiety regarding this issue.

To address this concern, we propose that the student mass be closed and a public mass be held immediately following the student mass for our loyal parishioners. By implementing these measures, we can ensure our students worship in a safe environment while still accommodating the needs of our community.

Thank you for your support, St Pius X School, Portland,
