I am writing in support of Coach Dom Ruggeri for Voorheesville Varsity Football. As a local school board member, teacher, and parent, I understand the importance of having a positive role model in the position of a varsity coach. Coach Dom demonstrated passion, expertise and experience while coaching boys 5th/6th grade tackle football this past fall. My son joined the team only knowing a few players and with Coach Dom’s approach, he immediately became part of the true definition of a team. Dom’s high expectations and strong communication skills set him apart from previous football organizations my son has participated in. We saw first hand his level of commitment to the young players on his team and his ability to coach the players at an individual and team level. My son’s football abilities grew this past season but it would be remiss if I didn’t mention the individual growth to his self-confidence and communication skills.
It is important to note that Coach Dom works closely with his assistant coaches and parent volunteers. He demonstrates respect to his team as well as to the other adults working alongside him. I have observed him working closely with volunteer parents in roles such as the concession stand and chain crew, always demonstrating gratefulness and appreciation. To witnessing him on the field at practices and games working as a cohesive coaching team with his assistants. I wear many hats in my community roles and have been involved in many sports organizations and teams as a parent and when I say Dom is exceptional, he truly is! Everyone who is on the football field with Coach Dom is included in the team regardless of their level or position. He would be an outstanding asset to the Voorheesville Varsity Program!

Mr. Ruggeri has consistently exhibited professionalism, dedication, and genuine care for the well-being and development of the students he works with. He understands the culture of the program, its history, and its goals, making him uniquely qualified to lead both in the present and into the future.

I believe his appointment serves the best interests of the football program, the student-athletes, and the broader Voorheesville community. I respectfully urge the Voorheesville Central School District and its Board of Education to formally appoint Mr. Dominic Ruggeri as Director of Voorheesville Football at the earliest opportunity.

My husband's knowledge and commitment to the game and the teaching of young men is unprecedented. I would love to see him mentor the young men in this community. His experience is unparalleled. He has the support of all the parents who have had their kids play for him and the players past and present who still seek him out for guidance. I know there was a disparaging remark made by somebody which couldn't be further from the truth. It was unequivocally completely false. However, we were expecting certain people to act like that. All he is asking for is a chance to be considered for the position and he has the upmost respect for the current coaching staff. By signing this petition it is just a sign of support and that is it, there is always a process that has to be followed. We thank you past and present parents and players. He truly enjoys being around all of you.
