Can we begin making the trucking industry safer again. I have been out here 5 years and have maybe a few key starting points and currently reside in Indiana’s 6th Congressional district

Our industry is seeing a rapid growth in fatal accidents by a very common group. So may we look at the following points.

1) No trucking company can be started or commercial vehicle can be purchased by any foreign entity, private or public. All owners must provide proof of citizenship/legal license. Exceptions can be granted to very reputable Industry/companies of allied nations.
2) All commercial motor vehicles within the United States must be operated by a U.S Citizen who have passed all required state and federal tests. Proof of citizenship should be in the form of a Birth Certificate. No exceptions.
3) No Commercial Carrier with more than 20 CSA points per 100 drivers should be allowed to acquire a new DOT number or re-register new ownership of a new commercial company.
4) Any CSA violations regarding utter disregard of the logbook without proper exemptions should be grounds to not only arrest all knowledgeable participants including the driver, broker, carrier, etc, should be arrested promptly, and face extreme penalties.

Reason

My concern is the safety and well being of motorists on American Highways and roadways. Our lives are being placed in danger and this can be prevented.

Thank you so much for your support, Nicholas McCabe, Shelbyville
