Petition addressed to: Maricopa County Residents
Let our voices be heard!!! We the people of the community of Rainbow Valley, Buckeye, Arizona 85326 are notifying the Property Owner Richard Schust, Spek Investments, LLC; Brian Mings, Property Developer Cortland Communities; Matt Olsen, Property Planner/Engineer CVL Consultants, Inc.; Krita Zinser, Property Planner/Engineer CVL Consultants, Inc.; Steve Gallardo, Board of Supervisors District 5; Rachel Applegate, Planning & Zoning Commission; Ronald Quarles, Staff Liaison to the Board of Adjustments; Jen Pokorski, County Manager; Tom Ellsworth, Planning and Development Director; Adam Cannon, Planning and Development Planner; and Martin Martell, Planning and Development Planner that we are OPPOSED to the proposed Maricopa County Planning & Development Department Case #S260006 – Paloma Estates, a subdivision of 132 homes on the corner of Tuthill Road and Narramore Road, Parcel #400-52-008A.
Reason
We do not want a Master Planned Community in Rainbow Valley. A Subdivision of this design would be out of place and forever change Rainbow Valley. As it is, Rainbow Valley is an endangered rural community in Maricopa County. We are fighting to preserve the “Rural Lifestyle” it provides and to avoid the all-too-common block walls and homes that are already spreading in epidemic proportions in our Community. This type of subdivision would change the look and feel of Rainbow Valley, disturb the view of the beautiful mountains, disrupt the natural desert, and harm wildlife habitats.
We have other concerns. What about our safety with additional housing? Can our Fire Department handle the additional houses? We only have two Sheriffs assigned to our area. We are in Sheriff's District 2, which covers approximately 5,200 square miles in the southwest quadrant of the county. What kind of strain will be placed on the Sheriff’s department? What about the traffic? We are already experiencing mile-long traffic at the stop signs during the morning and evening. According to the study, no lights will be installed. What about water? The water pressure at night is very low. What will happen with the growth of another 132 houses? What about our Schools? Can they handle the growth of students? These are more reasons that we need to STOP the development of Paloma Estates!

We do not need more large home developments on busy sections, that FLOOD by the way! The school is over crowded with no funding, the water table is dropping, our roads are WAY too busy to accommodate more large communities. That intersection is busy enough with the human life we already have. What will be done with the large wash that runs through that area? Will it be covered like the rest of them for the water to just force its way through anyways? This development puts itself right on top of a major wash that does run and shuts down multiple roads. How will the community plan around that when the drawings show houses on top of washes? It’s not a good idea. This coming from someone who has lived out here her entire life and have seen the washes push through developments without permission.

This will destroy our quality of life residents move out here to get away from everything so kids can ride atv and ride horses have a place to play outside and not be in the middle of some street can have animsls without having to register with HOAs approval and can have grass in our yards without having to pay fees every month and the mayors and governors are more concerned about how much money will go into their pockets if they really cared they would put zoning restriction 1home to no less than 1 acre or more but they won't it takes away from their payoff they dont care if it brings all the noisy and heavy 24 hrs constant traffic it's quite at night out here no loud city circus music all day all night. no lights on all night we like no lights on streets so can see the night stars even though it's getting harder and harder to see the stars now i think lights at night should be required to be motion censored and then there is the drive by shootings and drug sells and car insurance rates will skyrocket due to all the car accidents this will bring All the billionaire care about is theirs billions of dollars in their pockets and then leave the community tore up and destroyed.and the residents have to deal with horrible results of what they bring to the country. Don't bring the city to the country there are plenty of homes in the city. This is country living we should not be forced to live in a city and especially since city houses have a forced you must pay communist HOA you have no choice not to pay someone else that doesn't pay your mortgage to tell you what to do with your house. No way this should be in our rural country life living all just so the mayor governors and all involved can make billions in their pockets at the cost of peoples quality of living. So sad. They must be Democrates destroying other people's life's while living high off the hog kinda like the schumer gang. we will remember who you are for elections time.you should make good choices for the rural country community residents. I lived in the city but never again
