Stop further expansion of the ISLAMIC CENTER OF CLERMONT through Rezoning

As a concerned resident, I am worried that the proposed Community Facility District rezoning of a 3.8 acre residential parcel in order to expand a 4.43 acre worship center could permanently change the character of our neighborhood by establishing a commercial scale facility within the residential neighborhood. The information provided to residents indicates potential negative impacts including increased traffic congestion, higher accident risks, noise from frequent events and activities, strain on local infrastructure, and reduced pedestrian safety near homes, sidewalks, and school bus stops.
I am also concerned about the possible environmental effects identified in the proposal materials, including the loss of green space, wellhead and groundwater contamination, increased stormwater runoff, disruption of wildlife habitat, and additional vehicle emissions that may affect local air quality. These issues could influence the quality of life that current residents expect in a primarily residential area.
Furthermore, the flyer notes concerns regarding property values, emergency response delays caused by increased congestion, and the potential for future non-residential development once agricultural land is rezoned. Because rezoning decisions can have long-term consequences for a community, I believe a thorough review and meaningful public input are essential before any final decision is made.
For these reasons, I respectfully ask decision-makers to carefully consider the concerns of nearby residents and the potential impact on neighborhood safety, residential character, infrastructure, and the environment before approving the rezoning request.
