The recent implementation of the CBSE three-language policy for Classes 9 and 10 places an unfair and sudden burden on students who have already been pursuing foreign languages (other than English) as their second or third language. Many students have invested years learning languages such as French, German, Japanese, or Spanish as part of a well-planned academic pathway. Forcing them to transition to an entirely new language at this stage creates significant academic stress, disrupts continuity in learning, Particularly with board exams coming up next year
Reason
This petition is important because it represents the voices of students, parents, and educators who are deeply concerned about the unintended impact of the new three-language policy on children already studying foreign languages. At a stage where students are preparing for critical board examinations and future career pathways, introducing a compulsory shift in language learning can cause unnecessary academic pressure, emotional stress, and disruption to years of prior effort. The petition seeks a balanced and student-centric approach that allows continuity for existing learners, respects diverse educational choices, and ensures that policy implementation does not disadvantage students who have responsibly planned their academic journey under the earlier system.

Dear respected sir,
It is with great disappointment that I write this letter to you. As you have travelled the world, you are aware of the pressures that the educational system in India, puts on children from a very young age. I'm sure that you agree with me on this, there is a need to progress and not regress from the present.
My daughter fortunately or unfortunately has taken admission into a CBSE school this year. I wanted the change from an IB school. CBSE has introduced a new rule of R1, R2 and R3 as language subjects till class X this year. Where R3 could be any language Indian or foreign language earlier and limited upto the 8th class, now R3 has to be an Indian language and with an internal exam in class X. Children will still have to study for this additional subject in the Xth. A foreign language can be opted as R4. Does CBSE really think that any child/parent will put their child through 4 languages, in addition to other subjects for X class board exams? Statistics will tell. The first reaction of teachers was to sympathies with the parents that unfortunately your child has to follow this new policy. Please try and put yourself in the shoes of these children of class IXth and below.
As quoted by the hindustan times "The number of student suicides in India climbed to a record high of 14,488 in 2024, marking a 4.3% rise from 13,892 cases in 2023 even as country’s overall suicides declined marginally by 0.4% from 171,418 to 170,746 during the same period, according to the data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) on Wednesday."

I humbly request you to kindly revisit the matter. There is nothing wrong in correcting a mistake where one would have made in good intention but be unaware of how it plays out.
Let our children grow mentally, physically and not cut short their lives due to examination pressures. There needs to be a gradual if not drastic decline in the suicide rate. One can only imagine the grief the parents of these children must go through.
This new change is definitely not going to help in this matter. I am writing on behalf of all children who are at the receiving end of this new order, who unfortunately do not have the means of addressing this issue.
I sincerely pray that you are able to dedicate some time in your busy schedule to this genuine plea.

Changing a language at this point is ridiculous. How can it potentially benefit a child growth, rather hinder it .
