We, the students of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, respectfully submit this petition requesting the removal of parking fees for enrolled students.
For many students, having access to a vehicle is not a luxury but a necessity. Students commute from different areas of Lebanon, often travel long distances to attend classes, and may remain on campus for extended hours because of classes, rehearsals, projects, extracurricular activities, and university events. For many of us, reliable public transportation is not always available or practical.
In addition to tuition and the various academic and university related expenses students already undertake, recurring parking fees create an additional financial burden. Paying for parking every day throughout an academic semester can accumulate into a significant amount, particularly for students who are required to be on campus several days a week.
We believe that students who are already paying tuition to attend USEK should be provided with free access to designated student parking on campus.
Reason
This request is not intended to disregard the University’s operational costs or parking management needs. Rather, we ask the administration to consider the financial realities faced by students and the importance of affordable access to campus.
We believe that providing free or significantly reduced student parking would be a meaningful form of support for the USEK student community and would contribute to making the university more accessible and student-friendly.
We respectfully ask the administration to consider this petition and the concerns expressed by the students who sign below.

I am signing this petition since it does not seem reasonable to ask students to pay an extra fee just for parking their cars while they are at university. We are already paying tuition and a number of other university fees, and if another fee is charged every time we park, that would amount to $150 per month or per semester, placing an unnecessary strain on our finances. In view of the present economic situation in the country, I think the university should be more sympathetic to the financial difficulties that students and their families are already experiencing. Parking on campus should at least be free for students who are there to take their classes. Rather than introducing further costs and concerns, the university should take our views into account, consider our circumstances, and come up with a solution that helps us instead of adding another financial burden.
