We, the undersigned residents of New Hampshire, respectfully petition your office to take bold and immediate action toward abolishing property taxes and replacing them with a fairer, more sustainable system of funding essential public services.
Reason
For decades, property taxes have placed a growing burden on families, homeowners, and especially our elderly population. What was once a manageable obligation has become, for many, an overwhelming financial weight that threatens the very security of their homes.
Across our communities, we hear the same stories:
- Seniors on fixed incomes forced to choose between medication, groceries, and their tax bill
- Families struggling to keep up with rising assessments that outpace their wages
- Homeowners living with the constant fear that one missed payment could cost them the property they worked their entire lives to secure
