New title: CreateA SafeHumble Request for Green Parks and Open Play Spaces for Our Children in Gangtok

New petition description:

To the Government of Sikkim, Gangtok Municipal Corporation, Urban Development
Department, and Respected Ward Authorities,
With great respect and gratitude for the continuous efforts made by the government
towards the development of Gangtok, we, as concerned parents and residents, would like to humbly place before you a small request regarding open spaces for our children.
We are truly thankful for the growth and progress our town has seen over the years. At the same time, we humbly wish to bring to your kind attention a simple hope shared by many families the wish for our children to have small, safe, green spaces where they can play outdoors, close to home.
We do not ask for anything elaborate. Simple, well kept spaces with grass, trees, a walking
path, and some open ground would mean a great deal. Nothing fancy just a little corner of nature where children can breathe fresh air and play safely.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to the
Government of Sikkim for the parks it has so thoughtfully already given to us especially
the Ridge Park and the park beside Palzor Stadium. These spaces mean a great deal to the people of Gangtok, and we are truly thankful for the vision and effort that went into creating them. We only humbly wish, with the greatest respect, that these two beloved parks could be looked after a little further perhaps with some additional greenery, safer play areas, and a few more child friendly touches so that our children may enjoy them even more fully and safely in the years to come.
With utmost humility, we request the concerned authorities into Gangtokkindly consider, as and Sikkimwhen tofeasible, create

What children need are simple, accessible parks with grass, trees, fresh air, walking paths, open areas to run and play, and spaces free from vehicles. We request the authorities to:Identifyany unused or underused public land in differentGangtok’s neighbourhoods that could, in time, be considered for such purpose.

New justification:

Our Humble Reason for Asking
Many of us who grew up in Gangtok rememberwith afond childhoodmemories whereof weplaying playedoutdoors outside after school, ranrunning around with neighbours, visitedvisiting parks, fell, got hurt, got up again, and learned so muchlearning simply by being outdoors.outside. We feel deeply
Today, grateful for having had that experience.
We have noticed, with some quiet concern, that many children intoday Gangtokspend aremore growingtime
indoors upat inside homes, home, on phones, in concrete spaces, or in malls.malls Parentsperhaps maysimply trybecause there are fewer green
open spaces nearby. We say this not as any complaint, but only as a humble observation
from parents who wish the best for their bestchildren, toas takewe childrenknow outthe wheneverauthorities possible,do too.
We believe outdoor play plays a gentle but childrenimportant shouldrole not have to wait for an occasional outing to experience open space.Outdoor play is not a luxury. It is a basic need forin a child’s physical, growth emotional, helping them build friendships, confidence, and sociala growth.Childrenconnection need open spaces to run, jump, play, make friends, build confidence, learn balance, and feel connected towith nature. InWe understand that in a hill
town like Gangtok, where space is limitednaturally limited, and roadswe are busy, grateful safefor greenany consideration given to this challenge.
We are certain that Gangtok’s development already reflects great care for its people, and we only wished to humbly add children’s play spaces areas evenone moresmall important.Gangtokthought isfor growing, but ourfuture planning mustwhenever alsotime thinkand aboutresources children.permit. A city cannot call itself developed if children do not have safe spaces to play freely. We are not asking for fancygrand amusement parks or largeheavy constructions.construction Weonly aresmall, askingsimple, green for simple, green, safe, well-maintained public spacescorners where children canmay besafely children.Thisplay.We demandthank isyou importantmost becausesincerely for reading this humble request, and for the waykindness childrenand
