Ansökan riktar sig till: Vorwerk Group

German vacuum cleaner company Vorwerk had acquired Neato Robotics in 2017. In 2023, they have ceased the company. In that same announcement, Vorwerk has announced to keep supporting the devices for five years. (See Vorwerk Gruppe bündelt Robotik-Know-how in Wuppertal | Presseportal, in German)
At October 6th, 2025 Vorwerk has finally announced to shut down the Neato cloud platform "now". (See Announcement - 6th Oct 2025 : Support)

The undersigned demand:

Either: Take back the decision completely.
Or: Publish the full source code and binaries of Neato's devices' firmwares and Neato's cloud server software, so that the community can keep these devices alive.
Or: Do work out an integration with Open Source platforms like Home Assistant (see Home Assistant) in order to allow continued use of the devices.

Ideally, the undersigned would like to see all of the above implemented.

The signers of this petition clearly oppose disabling main features of their products without their consent.
They refuse the decision due to several reasons:

It is a break of the promise of five years of support in their previous announcement
It is a sign that Vorwerk does not value sustainability: Working hardware is being made worthless just for financial interests. In times of climate catastrophy, this is unacceptable.
It is a sign that Vorwerk does not value the interests of their customers, and want to create artificial revenue by devalueing their working devices.

In any case, if Vorwerk will not provide a fair and respectful solution to this situation, the undersigned will refrain from buying any products of the Vorwerk group in the future and will advise anybody in their networks against doing so.

Dear undersigned,

we have just reached 4000 signatures! To give you an idea of how much this is: We are talking about 84 pages (size A4) full of signatures!
I want to personally thank you for your signatures and all your efforts in sharing the petition.

As a next step, I will contact the Vorwerk group for an appointment for handing over the signatures.

In the meantime, please keep pushing as much as you can: Get your families and friends to sign, your colleagues, whoever you talk to. Keep in mind: Switching off features remotely after sales can happen to EVERYONE tomorrow. We should send a strong signal against habits like this - and every signature counts.

They robbed me of the functionality of a product I purchased based on advertised features. I rely on this product as a disabled person, to assist me in cleaning my home.
